Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam Choir（為更大的天主光榮）

 

The AMDG Choir is the dedicated church choir serving the 11:30 AM English Mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Guting, Taipei. Comprising members from around the world—many of whom are students or professionals living in Taipei—the choir forms a vibrant part of the church’s international community.

 

The choir traces its roots back to 1980, when the English Mass was first introduced at Sacred Heart. Under the guidance of Lourdes Dayon, and later Agosh L. Librea, the choir began its mission of leading parishioners in worship through song. In 2013, under the leadership of Michael and Irene, and with the support of Fathers Felipe Bacalso and Wilfred Chan, the group became known as the Magnificat Choir.

 

In 2016, the choir was renamed Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam—“For the Greater Glory of God”—or simply, AMDG Choir. Since then, it has been led by Austin Wang (王祈博), who also serves as the organist, alongside Camila Chen (陳康淳). The late Benedicte Chang (張玫 +) conducted the choir until her passing in 2022. Her legacy is carried forward by current music director and conductor Cherly Susanti (cherlydai.com), with vocal coaching provided by Alexandra Katya (alexandrakatya.com). The choir is also supported musically by Enzo Librizzi on piano and Leo Lin on guitar.

 

In addition to serving at Mass, the AMDG Choir hosts an annual vocal recital in the first half of the year and a Christmas concert each December. Internally, the choir holds music theory sessions and vocal training programs to continually develop the musical talents of its members—both as individuals and as a unified choir dedicated to praising God through music.

AMDG聖詠團是服務台北古亭耶穌聖心堂11:30 AM英語彌撒的教會詩班。團員來自世界各地，許多人是在台北求學或工作的國際人士，構成了一個充滿活力的國際信仰團體。

 

詩班的歷史可追溯至1980年聖心堂開設英語彌撒之時，在Lourdes Dayon的帶領下成立，後由Agosh L. Librea接手，開始以聖歌引領教友們在彌撒中一同讚美天主。2013年，在Michael與Irene的領導下，並在Bacalso神父與陳偉樂神父的牧靈支持下，詩班更名為Magnificat Choir（尊主頌詩班）。

 

2016年，詩班重新命名為Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam——意為「為了天主更大的光榮」，簡稱AMDG Choir。自此由王祈博（Austin Wang）擔任團長與司琴，與陳康淳（Camila Chen）一同領導。前任指揮張玫（Benedicte Chang）於2022年安息主懷後，由現任音樂總監與指揮Cherly Susanti（cherlydai.com）接任，聲樂指導則由Alexandra Katya（alexandrakatya.com）擔任。同時，Enzo Librizzi負責鋼琴演奏，Leo Lin則演奏吉他。

 

除了彌撒服務外，AMDG聖詠團每年上半年舉辦聲樂發表會，12月則舉行聖誕音樂會。團內亦定期舉辦樂理課程及聲樂訓練，幫助團員在個人技巧與團隊合作上持續成長，將音樂獻給天主，榮耀主名。
